Apparently I did watch one of them but we all know studies especially when one person is giving an opinion can be adjusted to fit any agenda. The fact still remains, Vegas is no different than a lot of places one can vacation right now. We have chosen; we can choose to isolate ourselves for the next year or God knows how long or we can choose to go on with life. You have chosen one direction which is your choice and does not mean you are unwise; others have chosen the other option: but no way is Vegas anything like you are thinking it is. That is my point: you are being very judgmental as usual without know what the heck you are talking about.

i think some people think we should just wrap ourselves in saran wrap and cut out eye holes and nose holes etc . I think maybe then some folks would be happy but then again maybe not . Then that imparts the question , how would we drive our cars after shopping ? i mean it is getting to the point of stupid.im tired of hearing about what precautions we as a society are taking . I chalk this up to folks being scared .

I have been wearing them on the few occasions I run to the store or quickly run inside to pickup takeout. I have my KN95 (I have a bunch of N95's but I conserve them), protective goggles, face-shield, and gloves. I get quite a few stares, but better to play it safe LOL

When I go out daily to exercise, I just have my normal surgical mask (under my chin), which I will only put up if I come across people and can't social distance. It's usually not a problem, and I just quickly go to the other side of the street when jogging/walking.

There's really no end to this. Some would love for us all to be decked out in Hazmat suits if you let them. And in the process, we'll continue to lose normal / natural immunity that leaves us more vulnerable to what's been around beyond COVID.

seat belts dont always save lives.

viruses flying thru the cloth mesh weave of a mask are like tiger woods hitting golf balls thru a chain link fence. about one/third will bounce back; one/third will deflect and go about 30 yards; and one/third will be unaffected and hit a hole-in-one.

Any of us can simply look up many current Vegas videos on youtube to see how it is right now. I'm sure many of us still wouldn't go if you paid them. Anyone w/ eyes can plainly see how closely everyone's walking, talking, standing around, & passing by each other. For those who want to do things, so be it. Apparently, they have the mentality of, "If they catch it, they catch it". I'm certainly not going to be that nonchalant about it. There's nothing to be judgmental about, it's what we can all see w/ our own eyes.

I think air filtration, purification, ventilation standards/mandates plus widespread testing (req before flights)and more accurate, fast tests would make me feel we were actually addressing the main transmission routes, than this temp check, surface cleaning, 6 ft distancing— that few seem willing to do.

Yep, who gives a flying fig if we're mocked...well, I never have been yet for wearing a lot of PPE. The main thing is feeling safe & having peace of mind.

My 82-yr old Mom had to go to the ER about 2 mos ago now & unfortunately had to end up spends 2 nights there. She kept her mask & face shield as she slept OVERNIGHT on BOTH of those nights. Now she was uncomfortable...mainly due to the bed as hospital beds usually are, but she felt safer since the people who they put in her room just feet away were both constantly coughing & harking, so who knows if they had COVID or not...no test results would have come back that fast if they were positive. They had entered the hospital at the same time as my Mom.

No such thing as normal immunity with COVID 19. It is a NEW virus and we do not have enough data to say much of anything about it.

I watched 15 seconds of one video of one casino and saw significant numbers of unmasked people. You said the mask rules are strictly enforced. I have no interest in Vegas even outside of pandemic times; you and your family are of course free to do as you please and take whatever risks you'd like but don't expect the same result as people who are acting more wisely.

And why would I be judgmental about people who help spread the virus? Its not like hundreds of thousand of people are dying from it or anything.
Oh, wait...

No, we do not "lose normal / natural immunity that leaves us more vulnerable to what's been around beyond COVID." That is not the way the immune system works.

Let me add one more thing: this was a combo vacation and business trip. They were checking out sight seeming activities around Grand Canyon and the national parks near Vegas.

Many of her clients are looking for places to vacation now other than just the Caribbean and Mexico. Yes people are still going on vacation.

I can only guess that maybe your daughter got Covid through her eyes.

Of course, none of this is really making sense.
