That's not going to solve the issue. Bats eat millions and millions of mosquitos every night. If the bats are gone, then we'll end up with mosquitos. Unless you want pesticides being the only thing eliminating the mosquitos, there will be a ton of them. And as we all know, some Mosquitos carry the Zika virus, among other illnesses. Bats are much better to have than mosquitos, if you ask me.

Dang. I really like a splash of raw date palm sap in my 5 o'clock cocktails.

Its part of the reason I feel like I need to stop hiding. There is always going to be a bigger and badder virus to come along. Not to mention, what is it doing to my immune system to hide from viruses? All viruses?

If I do take the mask off one day, will a virus I had no fear of suddenly be dangerous to me due to a lack of exposure?

In the '80s, antibacterial products were taken off the market - literally disappeared from store shelves, because the experts believed that by using them we would kill some germs, but anything that avoided destruction would evolve into a stronger germ faster.

Why dont we still believe that? What has changed in our thought process? Or, is it simply a case where we forgot we knew that, and history is repeating itself because we forgot?
If you are afraid of bat bites on fruit do not eat anything with blemishes.

When you remove your mask viruses you "had no fear of" will be no different from the way they were before you ever used a mask.

You can still buy antibacterial products, and those that kill viruses.

Across 11 different outbreaks of Nipah in Bangladesh from 2001 to 2011, 150 died out of 196 infected. While this virus has a high mortality rate, the RO or reproductive rate appears to be lower, based on the fact that outbreaks since 2001 seem isolated.

WHO report on Nipah:

https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-s...il/nipah-virus

"During the later outbreaks in Bangladesh and India, Nipah virus spread directly from human-to-human through close contact with people's secretions and excretions." In other words, not an airborne virus.

Even so, WHO R&D Blueprint list of priority diseases suggests that there is an urgent need for accelerated research and development for the Nipah virus.

To give some perspective and comparison, Ebola had a very high fatality rate (up to 90% depending on the strain), but it managed to be contained much better than COVID-19:

Does this mean I ought to trash my supply of raw date palm sap?

If you don't, an infected fruit bat may wander by.

Ah, the sacrifices we have to make to keep the world safe.

Tragically, 70% of all bats are also Republicans which explains why they don't wear masks.

This Republican wears a mask, and thinks some other Republicans in high places need a 2 by heavy education.

We aren't *all* stupid.
