I have seen a GP so far. If it should flare up again, I will ask for a referral to a podiatrist, been thinking it might need to be cut.
The crispy skin, yeah I don't believe it's harmful, seemed like a bit of granulation tissue that eventually died and came off, revealing new skin underneath.
