We both felt normal in 6 weeks. We took care of ourselves. Drank fluids, Rested and slept. It gets better.
6 weeks? That’s eternity. In the past with cold/flu I’ve recovered in a week.

How come my symptoms were sore throat, fever and now less energy with nasal congestion?

I was sick in bed yesterday. I don't know what it was but guessing Norovirus. I had body aches, a stomach ache, headache and zero energy.

I'm much, much better today (resumed normal duties) and expect to be 100% by tomorrow. I take a multi-vitamin and B12/D3. I also hydrated quite a bit.

I don't understand the concept of laying around and being sick for days and weeks. I think the mental part is responsible for lots of the malaise.

The OP is racked with fear, so that alone is debilitating on the body. He could address that, but probably doesn't have the self-awareness to do that.

Thanks for posting this. I thought I was nuts the extreme fatigue and other symptoms lasting 5-6 weeks and then comes back here and there a day or two a week. The sleeping 20 hours a day on weekends ended. Normal would be a catch up day of 10-12 hours max. 20 hours is from some deathly illness in my early years - Yikes!

Every body is different. I recovered in less than 72 hours both times I had covid. I took the advice of my Dr. to build up my immune system with Vit D and Zinc, lost my bodyfat under 10% with high muscle mass, seems to have worked.

How much D and Zinc? I do regularly take multivitamins but it may not have enough in it.

I take Orange Triad Greens.

I take well above the recommended level of Vitamin D and take about the recommended level of Zinc to twice as much as recommended. When I tested my blood, my level of Vitamin D was within range of what is recommended for your blood but on the high end, most people are too low.

When I had covid, I took extra Vitamin D and Zinc.

Recent blood test showed I was normal on D. I don’t have the exact # here but doc said it wasn’t a concern.
