not really -- it was a written/literary accomplishment....the earliest that survives (so, technically, there could have been earlier unknown examples) though the exact date of its release is debated.

Sorry...I missed that. Yes, mostly, but served in various posts...one being in north Africa.

Clue: there would be immediate name recognition in some circles today in northern California.
