No -- more of an observer and scholar. Among other things, he observed and pondered the existence of fossils.

Not Cicero. This guy moved to Rome from his hometown but was culturally and ethnically more Greek than Roman...although he embraced Roman accomplishments What else could you do...they were pretty much everywhere and that enabled travel and observation.

I'm glad I got it because I was running out of ancient Greeks for that time period.
