We are talking second amendment here so the man in question has to have "input" around 1787.......and Mr. Colt was born in 1814.

3. Yes in that it was not a single handed weapon. Whether or not it had a rifled barrel is unknown and that answer is probably no. In the interest of simplicity, however, "rifle" will be defined, here, as a weapon that is not held in one hand.

4. No.

5. CORRECTION, I misread the date, the man in question was not alive at the of the Constitution.

6. No, it is neither Whitney nor his popular concept interchangeable parts which, the latter, basically, far predate the Constitution.
