The USA Hockey team defeated Russia today. Great game that went to a shoot out. The Pres. tweeted them on their great win

Brings back memories of 1980.

Im glad our guys won over the other guys, but NOTHING in modern day olympics brings back memories of the olymiads before they allowed pros.

These guys are millionaires getting paid to play a game and now go for gold. its not special at all, its ridiculous.

True about the pros being used. Today you need to train year round to be the best, without Govt payments then they need to make money to continue to train.
I still follow them because it is supported by the nation. All the groups which form the assoc. are non-profits which start at the youth level.

I agree it's not the same with professionals playing. In 1980 the Soviet team basically was their professionals but that is why it made the win so much more special.

That said, it was a really good game today.

That is the only thing I hate about soccer and hockey...shoot outs. Why play the freaking game. Just have a shoot out.

Russia should have won the game. The goal that was called off because Quick knocked the net a millimeter off the peg was just crazy. If ya can't win fair and square then cheat!

Yeah but what a shoot out. 8 rounds with Oshie getting 4 goals including the winner. I used to be a soccer Ref. and man oh man the players would be almost falling down (Nerves) as they walked up to take the PK. This guy was great .
