What do you honestly think of grommet curtains? Are panels with rings better or worse than grommets?

I personally don't care for the way they look. I also don't care for the tab-top curtains either - I just find them too plain looking - downright ugly actually. I prefer curtains or drapes with a rod pocket top so that I can push them into soft folds when there is enough extra width in the panels. It is just a softer and more aesthetic look that I prefer in my own home.

Rod pockets are the most attractive; however, grommets are the best solution for people who need to open and close their curtains daily. The only other solution for daily use would be pinch pleated on a pulley rod system, but they look very outdated and the pulley systems can malfunction.

The grommet curtains look more contemporary to me. The other styles look more traditional.

I prefer plain curtain panels used with clip on loops with a matching curtain rod.

If you like the grommet curtains, I don't see why you should not use them.

I like that look too. They don't slide as easily for daily use. This is a problem I'm currently contemplating. I want to eliminate all of the blinds in my house and just use curtains. Since my ceilings are 10' high, they'll need to easily slide in a few key rooms.

I guess I'm the odd man out here. I like grommet curtains and prefer them over other styles. I think they're cleaner-looking and easier to open/close.

Not at all, it's what my wife chose for our home and I like them as well. Sure does make them Simple to open and close (which we do daily on ~5 sets of windows). Much less "stuffy" than more traditional window coverings too...

I have a very traditional home so I stick with the traverse rod pinch pleated curtains in my living room. I also have roman shades in my dining room that remain at half mast. The house has a large bubble tub in the bath that has a huge window (54 inches x 54 inches in that tub, that starts at 4 feet off the ground what the hell were they thinking) so there are shutters covering that area. The point being that while traditional in style, I have certain areas that really don't do "Traditional" like the tub, which I have the pleasure of cleaning despite never using. Note to self: project for this summer, buy plywood, foam and fabric and cover the hole.

Every time I look at the grommet curtains all I can "see" is a shower curtain. That said, I do like them but they don't work in my home.

Honestly, I much prefer grommets over panels with rings.

I like rod pockets the best.
