I have had the same dishes for at least 20 years. Blue and white Blue Willow. I mix it with white ironstone. It’s classic and available, and when I needed to replace a few pieces it was easily done. Now I’m needing some replacements and I’ve decided to switch to something new.
I saw a pattern I like in the latest Home Decorators catalog and unless I find something I like more, I’ll ask Santa for it. Of course, I’ll want to see it and feel it in person first. Some China looks and feels cheap.

If you could throw out all your old dishes and start fresh, what would you pick?
Love the birds....very pretty!
I have a everyday set, 4 place setting of white ironstone, 2 place setting of a rustic Italian-look stoneware by Pfaltz. That's all I need as a single person. Nothing new in store for me...still love what I have...
I've had my current dishes since 1988.. so that's 30 years. "Wyndham" by Pfaltzgraff. I still like them.
My fine china is even older - 1922....Limoges by Jean Boyer "Laurel". If I could take them to heaven with me... I would. I dream about finding some more bouillon cups!

Oh, I love Laurel, too. My dishes before this were Pfaltzgraff. When I moved in 1992, I sold mine to a few neighbors who also had it. My friend in Florida is still using them.
It’s funny how I’ve never wanted to switch until now. It’s like a switch got flipped in my brain.

LOL. I have had the same set for 34 years. I've never found any that I like better so I have not bothered replacing them.
These are mine - in all these years I have chipped only a single plate.
This what I want to replace my old Pfaltzgraff with. My set is roughly twenty years old, and has NOT aged well. It has discolored underneath the glaze, and I’m beyond irritated with it.
I do have the fine china of my dreams, I have a vintage pattern white Wedgwood set that I use at every opportunity. It is bone china, pretty tough and creamy white. For years I collected various white serving pieces. Only 4 years ago was I able to buy a set with plates.
I probably won’t replace my everyday set. I have too many pieces. Sigh. But I love that Cornishware stuff.

Why would I throw any of this out:
Vintage Fiesta
P86 Fiesta
LuRay Pastels
Jeannette Ultramarine Swirl
Salem North Star
Salem Pink Bamboo
Some Stetson pattern I don't know the name of with blue puffball flowers
In the 80s I was jonesing for Pfaltzgraff's Aura pattern, but now I'm glad I didn't indulge in another set of dishes. LOL
