I redid my kitchen 2-3 years ago, went for a mix of cabinets painted cream, and birch with a rosewood stain. My hardware is copper, the counters are Corian. Granite seemed so old hat to me, and since we redid the kitchen I've seen that indeed, granite is out among those who are in.
Really, I just didn't care for granite.

This is totally a vampire thread.

I apparently now have an unrequested subscription to Elle Decor. (Sigh. It's a consolation prize for the remainder of my subscription to the now-folded and much-read in our house Metropolitan Home) As I was flipping through it, I just had to think of this thread after seeing the posh Manhattan apartment that not only had white kitchen cabinets, but white IKEA kitchen cabinets.
