Anyone out there ever had a Goodman air handler coil replaced under warranty due to dirty sock syndrome? Does anyone know if Goodman even make a replacement coated coil?

I have not had a coil replaced due to DSS but am very familiar with it. I did a little research a short while back and could not find any major HVAC manufacturer that produces a coated coil for residential use as a cure for DSS. Generally if there is a DSS problem they will either remove the on site coil and coat it then reinstall it, or they will coat a replacement coil and send it out. There has not been sufficient numbers of DSS issues for them to spend the additional money in the initial manufacturing process to coat all coils.

Here are some of the more popular HVAC Forums in use today. I would take a spin over there and ask the question. You should receive answers directly from the HVAC professionals who post there. But please let us know here what you do find out.
