Has anyone purchased those cool Solar Fence Post Lights?

I'm "on a fence" if I should buy them or not.
Pretty expensive from my research online. Between 38-45$ each.
Do they last? Do they look good or too bright?

I'd love to hear of anyone's experience with these too.

I've been through one set of cheap solar in-ground lights.......they made it only a year or so (I even changed out the rechargable batteries...no go).

I'm on a second set of slightly more expensive solar lights now, great for the first few weeks, but some of them are not lighting now (we've had some rain & overcast days, so that might be playing a role).

Do you have a link so I can see what these look like?

All my garden lights and security lights are solar. You don't get the same power as electric obviously but it does seem to work very well ( especially considering I live in the UK where the sun can be a tad reluctant to come out) . I also love our solar fountain in our pond! I would say you probably get what you pay for.

You could try that US website :

I had a neighbor that put up a 6ft vinyl fence and had the lights on both sides of the gate. I found that they were not bright at all and I think 1 actually didn't last that long.

I have the solar ground ones and they are a lot brighter than the ones on his fence. I would suspect that he paid a good fortune for his fence so I would think that the lights would of been brighter.

My experience with solar lighting is that, while they do charge, they don't charge enough to remain lit as long as needed. This is NE Ohio, though.

We put solar lights on posts in our garden in CA. They were a bust. When the weather was really sunny they would stay lit longer but the light would get wimpier and wimpier. We still had to string lanterns to entertain. Overall, they were a bust. Unless they have made big improvements in the last 3 or 4 years I wouldn't recommend them.

I think 2 fireflies put out more light than the solar light I got for my garden. Total waste of money

I bought solar lights at Big Lots really cheap and they're working great! Of course, it's very sunny and hot in Texas and I have them in a place that gets absolutely no shade. That seems to be the key to them being bright and working well.

But, hey, I got a set of three pathway lights for less than $15 and a light on a 5-foot post for $8 so even if they just last over a year, I can't complain much. I'm hoping they last longer, though.
