Thanks for all the input! We have a day bed...used to use it in our other home, mostly for the grandkids. I was going to get rid of it because it's kind of ugly...but it has 2 good mattresses. I'm thinking of maybe getting a prettier one in wood and put it in my office/craft room. I have lots of pillows that will make it comfortable to sit on. The sellers of our new home left us their sofa bed which I had cleaned and I'm thinking of putting it in the room that we'll use as my husband's office/study. I have slept in sofa beds and I agree...they are not that comfortable. In the home that we're moving from, we had a beautiful queen size bed for guests with a really comfortable mattress. I wish I could do what someone suggested and put the mattress on top of the sofa bed when it's out...but I don't have any room to store the mattress when not in use! I'll try one of those memory foam pads and see if that will work out.

It's not that often that we have more than 2 people sleeping over...but this way we'll be ready. And as my husband says...we don't want to make everyone so comfortable that they won't want to leave!
