Hi, I am not sure if the shower should be on the right or left of the bar and if the hose is supposed to be on the same side of shower or other side of the bar.

He is a mock up of what I had in mind initially, but now I am not sure this is the optimum. I see some pictures where the hose is on the same side of the hand shower, not crossing like in this mock up.

I am now also unsure if the shower holder should be on the other side, the one facing the wall instead of the side I enter the shower. My initial thought was that I would want to easily access the shower with my right hand so it should also be on the right side of the bar. Do you agree?

And where should the hose be? And also at what height should the hose start?

Thanks

Here is an idea. Instead of having the drop ell for the hand shower, we usually do this:

Put the shower arm at standard height which I like 6' 8" to 6' 10" off floor. install a diverter on the arm for the hand shower hose. This gives the option of a regular shower head or the hand shower. There are diverters made that will allow the operation of both heads at once..

You should make sure the bar is not in the direct line of spray from the shower head. There's nothing worse than watered down drinks.

I wholeheartedly concur-
I prefer my single-malt neat!

Guys I appreciate the jokes, but I really need serious opinion with urgency. GC is already putting drywall and I need to know whether or not and how to move the shower pipes.

Thanks

It's simply a matter of personal preference and what fits best in the shower space (aesthetically and functionally).

Sure, but I I am reaching out to see what people recommend based on experience. For me it's my first time, and I am sure there are best practices based on experience.

More people are right handed than left handed. Put it on the right.

Shower on the right of the bar with the ell (hose) on the left?

Thanks

I would do a setup like ESPLUMBING suggested. (It's what I've had in our last couple of houses.) I like having a regular shower head with a nice flow and a handheld as well. My suggesting is to mount the handheld to the right of the showerhead, but it really doesn't matter. Just thinking about which hand I'd use to grab it.
