So doing dishes has become a hassle. Tried chinet cause I thought they were good but any wettish food will still soak through and then there will be sludge on the counter that has to be cleaned.

Needs to be microwaveable safe thick and easy to throw away. Any ideas?

Also getting a 300 ct bill pack of sturdy plastic forks.

In some places you better get those plastic forks soon!. I can see replacing plastic straws with paper ones (That was all we used to have) But how do you replace plastic disposable forks? This little wooden spoons we got with dixie cups as a kid?

I usually just put a piece of wax paper in the plate prior to putting the food on it, which stops the liquids from soaking through. I suppose aluminum foil would do the same thing, though it is thinner and might get punctured by eating utensils, allowing the wet stuff to leak through.

plastic forks
I've seen disposable utensils made out of corn by-products (cobs, I guess). They aren't as strong as plastic (they crack a bit easier), but sturdy enough for a few uses. They look/feel just like plastic and they're biodegradable. I saw these several years ago and expected them to be the 'next big thing' but they probably won't catch on until someone figures out how to make them the same price (or less) than typical plastic utensils.

I don't know if these are microwaveable but I have placed food on them for a quick zap. I use these for parties. They are very sturdy and look nice too.

Hmmm interesting. Thanks! About 12 cents a piece compared to chinet at 8 cents. I guess we’re talking about a few extra dollars a month to not have to wash dishes. Probably worth it lol

I get Dixie Everyday...the one that says 2X stronger on the front plastic. It's great in the microwave and pretty looking for a paper plate.

We use Dixie Ultra, Heavyweight paper plates. They don't soak through and are pretty sturdy. We don't use them daily though. I get them at Sam's Club.
