Apologize to your wife, for she married a dunderhead. Forget the bathroom TV. Get her some flowers, you owe her on this one.
The best answer in this thread!
I have been married to a beautiful woman for a long time, and have made a lot of mistakes now and then. But let me tell you...one of the dumbest mistakes for me to make is to assume that "I should always be right instead of just happy."
To the OP: This may be too late for you now, but if you haven't installed the TV in the bathroom, apologize to your wife and go along with her idea. Being right is not the answer. Besides that, there are a lot of more interesting things you can do in the bathroom with the person you love... than just watching TV
For the times in child hood and in my 20s that I escaped from frying myself by having a TV so close to water, I don't think I would intentionally make it a permanent fixture.
You probably already made a decision, since this thread was started a while ago. By now you probably know that not listening to your wife on this has been a mistake. This was not the hill you wanted to die on. Take this lesson for future reference.
It seems that all the people whom are against the idea are stuck on TVs only being able to show broadcast programming and refuse to acknowledge the whole spa thing.

Amazon Day made me an offer I couldn't refuse on an ultra-wide monitor. That will free up the TV that I was using as one of my computer displays; which can now go into the spa room. It is a better option for in there. It has more ports for me to have a firestick and to cast from my laptop simultaneously and the remote has more options for navigating the streaming media. Perhaps posters aren't aware of what can now be casted and streamed to screens these days. And what a relaxing immersive experience it can be.
In another thread we were discussing power recliners. Many posters thought it was just a recliner w/ a power button. Just like not having the experience to understand the combination of reclining in the comfort of a deep tub, with the smell of your favorite oils, with the display of breath-stopping pictures and music as every bone and muscle relaxes... They don't have any experience to understand that a power recliner is like a cross between the functionality of a hospital bed with infinite options to get your body into the perfect comfortable position while surrounded by a marshmallow (a firm marshmallow .
I can't imagine spending so much time in a bathroom that it needs a TV.
Seriously. I'm in and out as quickly as possible.
Nevermind that electronics and water don't mix.
