I turn the covers down for an hour or so in the morning before making the bed.
I turn the pillows over, too.
Wash pillowcases every week, sheets more like every two weeks.
This works for us and is about as much energy as I care to expend on linens. I don't have a clothesline big enough to hang sheets, so they go in the dryer. They are not going to be "crisp" unless I iron them, and there's no way I'm doing that.
Anyway, we are very active and so tired by bedtime that neither of us is lying awake thinking, "Gee, I sure wish these sheets were crisp."
I haven't been able to find the old-fashioned percale/non-wrinkle sheets for more years than I want to admit and glad I have kept some really old ones that are great but they are full-size and I need queen for my bed (and not to go too off-topic, pillows today are awful!!! Some of us (me) are allergic and can't have down but the cheap, whatever they put in them now???) - Back to topic - I change my sheets (it's just me) every two weeks, I will sometimes change the pillowcases after a week but I have four bed pillows on the bed, use one when I am reading and another for sleeping - after a week, I switch them out w/the other two.
Lands End has percale sheets. I buy almost all my sheets and towels there..
That would suck. There’s no way I could let a paranoid fantasy ruin travel for me.
Oh I love travel. IN fact I have more fun than most when traveling
I have no psychological obsession with hotels that I must have them in order to enjoy travel. In fact many of the places I like to go, there are no hotels. But then I do not need to have people paid to take care of me. I am a fully capable and fully functioning human. I am well trained and know how to take care of myself. I can change my own sheets and even do laundry. I can cook for myself, wash dishes and even mow my own lawn. I am fully adequte to do all things for myself and not dependent on others. I feel sorry for those who have to pay some poor person a paltry amount to do everything for them. I has to be tough.
If I have to use hotels I try to bring my own linens. I like clean sheets and towls and even the fancy places underpay their cleaning people and you get what they pay for (i.e. no cleaning or at least lots of short cuts like re-using sheets when they are in a hurry). Even if you are paying over $1000 a night, the cleaning people are underpaid overworked and resentful.
