Well, then, get someone else to do it.
Anything that's powerful enough to remove rust from SS is going to pit the material, probably emit nasty fumes, and be something you don't want to handle in the house.
For example, phosphoric acid ("Naval Jelly") will probably do the job, but what are you going to then? Rinse it off in your sink and risk pitting holes in your drain pipes? When we used to use this stuff we did it outdoors with goggles and elbow high rubber gloves, hosed it off profusely, and STILL I know it was a hazmat.
Don't you know anyone with a bench grinder and a cotton buffing wheel?
