We have cork flooring in a hallway. It has held up very well. You can get it in all sorts of different patterns. Look on line, do not feel that you need to use one of the limited patterns available in most retail stores. There are dozens of patterns and colors. At least one company adds colors to the cork as well.
How well it holds up depends on what coating you use. You do nto use bare cork. It all must be coated with polyeurethane or something similar. What you use will in large part determine how durable the floor is.
