I think two sections are already completed. Is this really needed?

Yes, it's needed.

You should have seen the right of way for Beltway 8 when IT was way out in the country. People asked the same thing then: "who will use it". I think we answered that question.

Highway 6/1960 already forms a kind of semi loop outside the beltway. As far as I know portions of the east and west Grand Parkway (TX-99) are already done. I like the idea. But I wonder how they plan on working it into the lower Bay Area and the south metro (will it share space with TX-146, feed into FM 1462 at Rosharon, etc.).

I wonder How they will connect section A to section I-2. Maybe 646 to 146?

When Houston densifies it is gonna be a massive city.

I can imagine it now, with rails all over the place and lots of buildings around our parks and greenery.

You are talking about 99. And yes, it is needed. The segment from I-10 to 290 will be heavily traveled when the work on 290 starts in a year or two. Instead of sitting on 290 in the middle of construction, go out I-10, jump on 99 up to 290, and voila, shave an hour off your commute.

Oh wait, there is no segment from 10 to 290. Build it already!
