Cowboys looked hungrier yesterday. Can't overlook anybody in the NFL, talent levels are too close.

The only person for whom this game was the Super Bowl was Wade Phillips and his coaching staff, including the offensive mastermind that is Jason Garrett. (Seriously, what if Tony Romo had real coaches around him all these years?)

I'd like to think the Texans would play better in a Super Bowl, so it certainly didn't appear to be a big deal to the players themselves. Now the fans on the other hand...

But somehow against an offensive line that looked pathetic in two losses, the Texans failed to perform step one there.

The Texans are still in good shape so far. Three weeks in they're 2-1 and tied for first place, one game with the Colts out of the way. The team is flawed, but so is everyone else in the league. Their problems are similar to those of the Packers (i.e. issues in the secondary and offensive line) and people have been talking Super Bowl about the Pack since the preseason. Which, as a Packer fan, I'd say is a bit premature, just like writing anyone out of the playoff hunt in September.

One massive Texans flaw has been corrected by the change at kicker. Now if only Kubiak will trust Neil Rackers. He almost blew the Washington game by not doing so.
Jackson has been getting torched. As far as physical talent goes he has it all, but he seems to be having a little psychological problem after Old Man Galloway basically owned him last weekend. Texans came out of the gate running a pretty soft zone (I assume in an attempt to give Jackson some relief or maybe because no one trusts Jackson in a matchup with Austin/Bryant/Williams), Garrett had apparently been working a lot of quick routes and 3 step drops to keep pressure off of Romo. Soft zone + quick passes + Jackson isolated against Austin/Williams/Bryant every play = bad combo for Houston.

My $0.02...

Gawd, I hate Dallas.

The Texans played the most physical group of receivers they will play all season long. Kareem Jackson did not play that bad on Sunday. Eugene Wilson not helping Kareem over the top is what really hurt. Roy Williams' 63-yard TD catch shouldn't have happened due to the false start anyway, but besides all that, Wilson should have been over the top to help out Kareem. Instead, for some odd reason, he was lined up over center. Romo obviously saw that there was eight in the box and Roy changed his route leading to an easy TD. Doesn't help that Kareem slipped, but you can see Wilson trying his best to run over and help but he was WAY too late. Eugene Wilson needs to be replaced by Troy Nolan. Kareem Jackson is a rookie. Give the kid some time. He's played some very good QBs for his first three games.

If there weren't as many dumbass Cowboys fans running around Houston, and they were more respectable like the ones I have found in DFW, then maybe Houstonians would warm up to them. Instead, most of the Cowboys fans in Houston are Cowboys fans because the Cowboys were winning when they were growing up in the mid-90s, and the Oilers were about to move. Now, the people from Dallas who have moved to Houston that are Cowboys fans, I have no problem with.

I just re-read my post and it sounded over-bad on Jackson. I didn't intend to sound like I think he was a mistake, because I don't. I think he's a rookie and he's had a pretty tough welcoming committee thus far.

I think the Cowboys will finish 9-7 with no playoffs. Not sure about the Texans if they will make the playoffs or not. Not better then 9-7 for Texans either.

Houston beat Oakland today! Yay!!!

3-1 ain't too shabby for the Texans.

Last week's game was not like Houston at all.

Nice win, but the defensive backfield still needs some work...and Mario needs help.
