So how's the housing market in summerwood? my wife and I just recently had a newborn and we need to move into a bigger place. we have narrowed down to summerwood and fall creek. has the oil and gas problem affected the housing market in summerwood? we are interested in buying in the next 6-12 months but we want to buy during down market. is now a good time for deals or should we wait a bit longer?

Can't give you specifics, but Summerwood is a very popular neighborhood for the better-paid employees at the petrochemical plants in the Baytown / Port area, which is still booming.

Summerwood is nice, have a few friends there. The traffic is horrible though, and will only get worse as Generation Park begins to fill.

Traffic is horrible? What part of Houston would that NOT apply to. Growth has surpassed the building of roads in the area. Plans are in place to have additional outlets coming down from Kingwood and Atascocita but they seem to be slow in coming.

Summerwood is a great place to live. We have been there for over 8 years now and we love it. As anywhere you have those that complain about the new commercial construction and others that want more options close to home. You cannot please everyone. Check it out at different times of day and week to get a real feel for the area.
