I thought mean LA LA!

Louisiana is hot. When I think of it, I think of heat, both weather and food.

Weather Atlanta | 11Alive.com | WXIA TV

Houston: 94 F Heat Index 102 F

Houston Texas Weather | Texas Weather Conditions & Forecast | KTRK Weather | abc13.com

I know in Houston they are expecting a high of 100 and a heat index of 108.

In Atlanta the high is supposed to be 96 but I don't know about the heat index.

Thanks y'all! Houston and Atlanta are pretty much the same. Alabama now is hot like both of them with a heat index in the triple digits.

I moved to Atlanta from Houston 3 years ago. The 1st 2 summers I was hot maybe twice. I actually missed being hot occassionally. Its been hot the last month in Atlanta, but its been worse in Texas.

It is not anywhere close to as hot in Atlanta as Houston. Even more than the impact of the humidity is the nighttime temperatures. Atlanta regularly gets into the 60s at night. Sometimes Houston doesn't even get into the 70s.

In Houston you get somewhat acclimated. But you still notice it.

Houston, being 45 miles from the Gulf gets the humidity and much milder winters. About 25 years ago on Christmas Day, Houston hit its 3rd lowest temperature ever, 11 degrees. High that day was 27 degrees. Previously record LOW for that day was 30 degrees. Contrast that with my first winter in Atlanta and it hit the 20s (and frequently the teens) nearly every day for a month.

I knew in Atlanta, it would feel like a sewt box at night. I seemed like the heat was rising from the asphalt; it was just odd and sticky.
