Most people like some variation of what they grew-up with...., and that can even vary town-to-town in the NY metro area. Brothers is as good as most neighborhood pizzerias I find when I go back.

A shout out to Ronnie for ignoring insults and trolling. I would never be so patient. Brothers is ok. I like NY Pizza Co. In Willowbrook. My friends like Crespo's out on Westheimer. I actually like Italian food that isn't too authentic.

Brothers Pizza is nasty... IMHO. One step above Pizza Hut. 5 steps behind Russo's. It was the only chain that would deliver near me 5 years ago in The Woodlands. I would drive to into Houston to get Trattoria pizza

Russo's sucks.

There are different Brothers pizza places.
The good one is Hwy 6 just north of I-10.
The guys are from NY.

I still like Pink's better though if I have a choice.

Ha! I think that about Ronnie as well, sometimes. And, I feel the same way...I'd rather have American style pizza over Italian...I see it as an evolution.

Yes, Russo's does "suck." Just it's better than Brothers that "sucketh" more.

Give me a true Crustini Pizza anyday over a doughy, limp, and over sauced pie. Anything that you can't fold without a slight snap...not for me.

That's the one I was giving the thumbs up for. I remember going in there when it first opened in their original location and immediately heard the accents. I asked where the owners came from, feeling a little sheepish because I didn't want to look "provincial", but the guy cheerfully explained (IIRC - this was in the early 90s) most of the employees were from Brooklyn. In fact I also heard Italian being spoken in the cooking area.

Wow, I've eaten at Pizaros twice in the last week and it is FANTASTIC! Probably the best pizza I've ever had. In Houston, my Top 3 pizza places are:

1. Pizaros
2. Grimaldis
3. Russo's (on 290)

Still have some other places I would like to try but haven't gotten around to yet...

I went to Pinks just last week and I wasn't too impressed at all. The only place i've been able to find good NY pizza is Tony's off Fallbrook & Jones, just off 1960 heading towards 290. The guys are from Long Island and they have everything, italian ices, garlic knots, zeppoli's, Sicilians...you name it.

I must say, I have a buddy from Chicago that keeps busting my chops about how great chitown pizza is. I went to windycity pizza in sugarland and I can honestly say, that about have 3 minutes of eating the pizza...I was in starbucks bathroom throwing up. That can't be pizza, way too much stuffing if you ask me. I'll hold back on my typical NY'r attitude and see if it was just a Chitown pizzaria that was mis representing the town.

My best friend growing up is from Naples Italy and his dad used to make tossed pizza's in Italy and they opened a small pizzaria in Queens. The place probably has the best pizza in Queens, I crave it almost daily......mMMMmmm I love me some pizza.
