Enjoy the nice sunshine today (happy V-day!), 'cause it looks like the rest of the week is going to be cloudy or raining until Sunday.

Think of it as an outdoor laundromat for the homeless.

I'm in school too, and did not "enjoy" getting soaked this morning...but I rather it rain plenty now, before summer gets here and we bake again.
Never said I didn't want it; just said I didn't like it. I have an umbrella btw.

God knows we need the rain, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't getting uncomfortable. Winter rains are depressing. I like sticky, soaking wet springs, though.
I like winter rains, it reminds me of when I lived in the Bay Area. It also makes it feel more like winter, especially when it's foggy. I hate dry winters because my skin is susceptible to eczema, all this rain and humidity have kept my skin nice and moist.

I like dry springs and summers because with dryness comes less humidity. You actually want humidity in the winter because it retards radiational cooling, but humidity in the summer is a killer.

The California/Mediterranean climate of cool wet winters and warm dry summers is really the ideal to me.

I think as brutally unbearable as the summer was, the OP (and me as well) was hoping for more of the nice, dry, sunny and cold days that Houston usually has Nov-Feb (think 60 as a high and no clouds in the sky)...not this 10-rainy-days-out-of-the-last-14 nonsense (with a lot of those days being 70+ degrees).

Yes, we need it, but Jesus...what a lame winter it's been!

Well, I think that's the essence of your post. The California-like temps do feel nice, but I don't want the actual California weather. Houston is already too warm, but I like to experience the closest to four seasons as possible. Green grass, damp ground, and warm, humid air is not my idea of winter. Yesterday was more like the ideal day in April, to me.

I don't need a bone dry winter; just not a soaking wet one.

Right! We've pretty much been stuck on warm-and-hot autopilot for the past year, so much so that this past Sunday cold snap just made me numb. My body didn't know what to think.

Those dry days are the times that arctic air intrusions come down and dry things out way too much for me.

Now I love a good cold front in March or April to clear things out and bring a very dry day with night temps in the 50's and day temps in the 70's or 80's with low humidity. But winter I'm totally fine with this coolish and humid rainy weather (50's, 60's, or 70's). I love it!

So in summary I hope this rainy weather continues until around mid March, then the sun returns!

Just learn to appreciate that these rains are helping out the states lakes and soil moisture.

I like those sunny and dry April days, that is what spring should feel like to me. Of course I live in Austin where it's generally drier.

The average temps in Houston this time of year are mid 60's, things haven't been that far off from that (some days 40's and rainy, some days 70 and rainy but if you average them out mid 60's is probably about where things have been)

We are still in an La Nino weather pattern, all rain should be welcomed.

Humid weather in the winter is what I remember growing up in Southwest Louisiana. I loved how everything got so moist and it wasn't even raining. This is a very common trait of this area, by the way. If you want dry winters with sun, move to Colorado, although they do have many snowy days without any sun as well and those days temps can be in the single digits. Or you could move to Arizona if you like things warmer, they have dry days in the 60's/70's and nights in the 30's/40's in the winter. But Houston is a humid climate.

Only in Houston. We need the rain badly but not all at once.

It's going to keep raining here in February then come May-October we probably won't even get a sprinkle. Save it! Give us some here and there before we get none at all in the summer Houston weather!

Spread it around the year. Not all in two months then disappear for another year.
