Think IH-45 has horrible traffic? Just wait until 2035 when IH-69 is completed through Texas!! Experts say traffic count could climb as high as 350,000 vehicles per day on IH-69 in Houston!

Houston's I-69 traffic expected to soar to 350,000 by 2035 - Houston Chronicle

Kinda duh. It's over 20 years in the future for a rapidly growing area.

Whoopty Doo.

Well considering at this point in Houston's history that no freeway in a 20-year period has ever seen such a growth of traffic I think that is thread-worthy information.

Doesn't surprise me at all,
I used to live in NE San Antonio and 1/2 of my commute to work was driving on I-35 and you wouldn't believe how many trucks go through there everyday.

The main factor is going to be whether or not Austin changes.
Everybody knows that it is a pain to drive through Austin and if those truckers coming from Mexico are given a similar, better option, I guarantee they'll take it right away.

When we came back to Texas in 1974 we bought a house very close to 1960 and I 45. It took the carpool 25 minutes to get to Main and Elgin, via I 45. Two 1/2 years later, that trip was 2 hours.

If memory serves, Texas will population will double by then. Every little girl you pass in Walmart will have a husband have 5 kids.

I'm sorry, I'm not judging the need for a new thread but it's not surprising to me whatsoever.
