Tafia is a highly regarded restaurant. Just of the top of my head, I suppose you haven't heard of Bryan Caswell or Paul Qui, other loser reality show chefs who own/cook at excellent restaurants in Houston.

Let me guess, you were one of those Woodlands residents who refused to go to Dolce Vita because there wasn't Bud Light on draft and no ranch dressing for the pizza. Stick with Applebees and and mall food.

WTF Bricks... way to go off the deep-end, lol. While she may not be Colonel Sanders, she has won a few prestigious awards.

Don't forget about the time you wasted posting about the time you wasted doing the google search.

[quote=Houston1197;25523650]I agree and thought it was funny as well. The Huckabbes of this world need to zip it because they make a lot of people look bad.

I'm a Conservative who actually supports Gay marriage and the fact that Chick-Fil-A holds a different set of beliefs doesn't phase me a bit. I still love their sandwiches and since people have started to give them a hard time I have found myself eating there more often. It's funny how liberals can pick and choose their battles on easy targets while at the same time they continue to jam Chris Brown without hesitation

What? Is Chris Brown the official liberal flag bearer or something? Missed that memo.

So, as I was picking up groceries, a funny scenario played out in my head.

I have to move back to Houston this month and I won't have a job transfer for about a month. So I thought: What if I worked for Chick-Fil-A for a month. I'm an excellent employee. I give very good customer service (ie. remember regular customers, friendly, knowledgeable, etc.). Plus, I'm not so gay I would singe anybody's eyebrows off with my flaming-ness. And, I've seen a church, so I know what it looks like. So anyway, I get the job and I'm working there or whatever and I decide to quit, obviously. And on my last day, I could replace the Jim Henson toys with some of my OWN "toys."

Now THAT would be Houston news! Heck, it might very well just OFF Dan Cathy.

Nice try clown, actually I live off of westhiemer. Yeah I've heard of Bryan caswell, so what? What's your point? Actually I eat more ethnic food like carribean food(since that's where my family is from) soul food, couple of Indian spots down on Harwin, Istanbul grill is rice village, Taquerias, places like. Every now then get steak from Vic & Anthony's. Sorry if I'm not some fat white middle aged suburban food snob, like yourself, who tries to act like I'm cool and hip because I eat at " cool"spots in montrose.

14Bricks - some of those chefs you think cater to "suburban food snobs" are James Beard nominees. Glad Houston has so many. they also make some awesome food. isn't it "hip" and snobbish to say you only appreciate the hole-in-the-wall places?

Well, two chicken filets on a sandwich ought to be better than just one.

I'm just saying, some of the fancy places people are not that impresive to me. Went to vargo's for valentines about seven years ago, NOT impressed. I went Brennan's during Houston restaurants week last year,I thought it was overrated, it was Ok. I like benjis on washington. I also tried America's in in river oaks shopping center, that was damn good. I love meat, so that was right up my ally. Speaking of which, Houston resturant weeks starts this month, and I'm hoping to try some new places.

My point is you are being a jackass by calling someone a loser reality show chef just because you don't frequent their restaurant - which you have never tried. Asking you to googling her was not just about the restaurant, but because she is gay (hence the menu at Beavers).

I'm a huge fan of small joints from La Guadalupana in Montrose, to taco trucks, many places on Harwin, Vietnamese in Midtown, to Thai food at Asian Market.

And yes I do like places like Latin Bites, Oxheart, Uchi, and Da Marco at times, but I'm far from a fat suburban food snob. I'm just not "too cool" to say that I won't eat at Pondicheri or Hugos becuase they are popular.
