Hey, I am moving in 2 week to Houston and will be living near the Galleria. I need a good internet, cable, and power company that gives the best deal. But I need my internet to be very good because I work from home and cant have it slow or go out. Thank you for your help.

Definitely not Comcast. I'm very happy with AT&T Uverse. for power go to powertochoose.com. I suggest Spark Energy, Reliant and Startex. Make sure you get a new contract before the current one ends. Well, you'll figure it out like everyone else that paid a hefty price for not monitoring their contract end date

If you want speed, Comcast is probably the only choice. Uverse's highest speed is 24Mbps. Comcast has options for 50 and 105 Mbps. If you absolutely need to guarantee reliability, they should both have a "business edition" that you may want to look into.

I second the vote on Comcast Xfinity for internet. As for a TV provider, they are on the expensive side, even when you bundle services together. I save roughly $50/month despite having Comcast for internet and DirecTV for TV (versus when I had Comcast bundle TV & Internet together).

Comcast by far has the fastest internet options and much better latency over Uverse. Even Uverse 18mb had horrible latency issues. Was not a fan of Comcast cable however recently upgraded to their new X1 product and it resolved all my cable issues and the new boxes with whole home DVR with great graphical interface I am sold.

I have used Comcast Internet for years and I am happy to say I have only had one problem. The modem died, which of course was not the fault of Comcast but they promptly sent a tech with a new one.

I heard that the service can vary by neighborhood so perhaps others can chime in on your area.

Directv is my choice for TV since I am a Chicago transplant it is the only way I can still guarantee to watch all my favorite hometown teams. Directv has packages for all sports especially NFL Sunday ticket which is exclusive to Directv currently.
Its not cheap since I add all the sports, but you can get a pretty good deal when you sign up for the first 6-12 months.

What??? I pay more than that alone just for Comcast internet. You must have some type of promo with Comcast.

Comcast for internet, DirecTV and Green Mountain Energy are my current providers and I'm happy.
Used to have AT&T DSL but had too many issues plus the speed is not even comparable to what Comcast is offering now.
Been forever with DirecTV, would not change.
Used to be with Reliant until I made up my mind, did some research in places like powertochoose.org and Green Mountain offered the best pricing in my area.
