Summer, to see if you take living here like that for 5-6 months a year. If you come in the winter, you will have no idea how hot and humid it can get.

The length of Houston's summer is always exaggerated imho. Either that or I am just used to the weather.

DanielWayne posted this link in another thread. You can check the average temperature for each month in this link.

Houston Month Weather - AccuWeather Forecast for TX 77002

The best time to visit would be April or May so you can see the overgrown greenery. This city blooms for almost the whole year though.

Well, I have to think about how hot a Halloween costume will be for my kids, and our neighorhood splash pad is open through the month if October, And it opens in April. To me that's a pretty long "summer" season. To me, the fall is the shortest season.

I would visit in the summer to check out the humidity. I've been here for 12 years and am still not used to it, and I'm a Texas native.

I guess I am just used to the heat then. I go go running midday in June but by July I wait until the sun goes down. I'll still ride my bike midday though anytime in the summer; not as harsh as running. I consider Jun-Sept to be hot.

For me, I consider late June, to mid-September to be hot. We've actually had some great Septembers, the last two years. And it can't come soon enough.

Anything leading up to, or away from those times, is wonderful.

Isn't that the truth? I am trying to be patient for the back to be broken for summer. Starts for me when I wake up and it is in the early 70's. I am thinking maybe 3/4 more weeks.
