Why not Marquis @Pin Oak or Westmore at bellaire?.. They are close to Galleria.

Live in this area, though not in an apartment anymore. Not personally familiar with these complexes, and don't know your budget, but I would say the farther west on Briar Forest, the newer the complexes. That would make your GF's commute longer, though (not famiar with commute times east as I work south). If you go too far west o. BF, there is horrible traffic going by Westside HS. There are nice complexes on Eldridge as well, though getting in and out during rush hour is a pain.
