Disease will start to spread in Houston in the coming months. And like the other anon said, you sure the job still exists?

Please dont move here. The last thing we need is more self-absorbed transplants ruining our area during a disaster.

Pretty much anything west of 99 didn't flood in Katy from what I can tell. But that drive downtown during rush hour will not be fun for your husband...

Also SL is around 80-100 ft above sea level, that helps as well.
Just to clarify - there was mainly street flooding in subdivisions.

Old Katy (west of 99 north of I-10) flooded on streets. Some hot water in their homes.

A friend living in Cinco just west of 99 south of Westheimer Parkway had water up to her front door. It didn't get into her house. Barely! Water is going down now. Her street was a "lake".

Rent or buy? Price ?

Streets in Houston were designed to flood during heavy rains, 1-2 inches an hour. Do not be put off by street flooding.

You could find a place that did not flood this time, but will the next.

Welcome to Houston.

Unless the elevation of the house suddenly changes, that is just not true.
