I have noticed regular Chinese drug stores along Bellaire. When I was in Canada, the Chinese drug stores all had a Chinese medicine area where a Chinese Pharmacist (if that is what they are called) all man these big bins of strange plants, all meant to cure some illness. Some of these plants are more expensive then our worse prescription medicine.
I do not think it can be called drugstores in the US. chances are the best place to start is to take a drive on bellaire and read the chinese characters if you can. you can even visit any of the spas and other chinese herbal medicine places there or any of the major asian grocery stores - they all have a long counter for dried stuff, theyll hook you up

Check out Wel Farm grocery store on Hwy 6 and Austin Pkwy. They should have them though you will have to fry them. The Vietnamese restaurants should have them when you order salad dishes.

Cool, I was just down at Bellaire this weekend. Ate at the Ocean Palace, very good place. That's a pretty neat area, like SteveArmy said... it was an adventure.
