These judges and prosecutors need to start being held accountable.

No, we just had folks who wanted it put in perspective to show that it’s part of a national trend. It still is. I posted all the data from crime increases in different cities in this thread. It’s very easy to see.

Crime in Houston now is nothing compared to how it is was in the 1970's and 1980's. For example last year Houston saw 473 murders but in 1981 it saw over 700 murders with a much smaller population. Back then was when the Texas Killing Fields were happening and serial killers were around.

Does that make it more palatable to you?

Everyone else is getting shot and killed at a higher rate - so it's really not a big deal. Is this where you are going with your response?

I’m starting to think usc has ties to the city council. Never in my life have I seen someone get so upset over politics.

You guys are trying to hard.

You cant find a solution of know why crime spikes happen if you don’t l look at trends and data as a whole. How can you know what the solutions are if you don’t look at other cities where crime is rising, cities where crime is falling and compare methods?

What is pathetic are people who ride threads like this for political purposes or try and take a small portion of data to pretend they know more than they do. I am speaking directly to USC619 when I say that. He doesn’t have the balls to speak directly to me and instead goes behind a third person to take jabs. He was dead silent when I posted the data on crimes rises (and falls) for all major cities in the US. Of course he didn’t. He created this thread to placate his emotions.

I’m driven by data, not emotions.

A lot us weren't trying to downplay the increase, we're just trying to note that it has been a national trend, and figuring out how to solve it will involve separating out exogenous/national reasons for it vs. things that can be controlled locally, like judges' bail decisions. Not that there can't be local responses to national trends, of course, but we need to understand them.

The domestic violence increase has been a national phenomenon and has certainly been part of the increase here. Do we understand why that is?
