People carry on as if murderers were standing around on every street corner waiting to do in as many people as possible, just for the hell of it. I'd venture to say that if one is not hanging out with drug dealers and low life trash, one is unlikely to get himself or herself murdered. For the average citizen who is actually NOT a gang member or dealing drugs or running shady deals with shady people, get a dog and an alarm system and keep your doors locked. Criminals tend to murder each other.

Houston is currently at 89 murders. By far the most violent city in Texas, is experiencing the highest uptick in crime of any city in America, and is head to head with Chicago for the most homicides of any city in America.

What can be fixed?

While there's some truth to this, it doesn't apply to the surge in domestic violence.

Domestic violence is something where I am not sure the number of police has a significant impact.

Commited by people out on bail. What a cycle. Nice to see some folks finally see the light though (maybe).

We only can hope they eventually get killed either by cops or by civilians protecting themselves. That's the only light at the moment. In fact this happens, but not very often.

Latest news coming out of Harris County's "Catch and Releash" program. It must be a real money maker, because they're putting profits over safety. Only way this is going to change is to clean house in Nov.
