You just move to Houston? Rain ruining your weekend is common ever since I moved here over 10 years ago. It's when it's flooding that I just shake my head and curse out the city. But you know I chose to move here so have to deal with it.

Edit: Damn my wife just texted me and told me it was flooding on our side of town. SMH OH HOUSTON!

8+ years in Houston. And as I previously mentioned, 2018, 2019 and 2020 was pretty good in May: no weekend was ruined during those years. Don't remember about earlier years, but typically it doesn't affect two weekends in a row.

Bwahahahaha. I've been here since 1976, so 45 years. Countless times where two weekends in a row of rain messed up plans. There have been years where 6 or 7 weekends in a row were rainy.

I can empathize... I love the rain, but it is a bit wee too much when you have people coming out to your house to paint, and do other outdoor work! The painting crew had higher priority work ($$$$$$) than mine, so had to push me back a week, so that caused me to have to reschedule other workers, now I am behind three weeks. But... I'd rather we have rain than a drought... if anyone remembers the last one we had, the one that wiped out Memorial Park, and other places.

Best to look on the bright side: At least it has been spread out and sporadic enough to allow the water to absorb or drain, instead of dumping all at once and leading to widespread flooding.

And it's safe to say we will most likely avoid a drought this year, certainly not anywhere close to the one we had in 2011 that wiped out all those trees in Memorial Park (memorable b/c it was my first year here).

Anyway, current forecast shows this weekend and several days after to be nice and dry, other than a chance for brief mid-afternoon shower Sat.

Surprising to know how many huge fans of rain are here! Enjoy more rain today! I don't care about it today since it's a business day...

The sun sets in my backyard
I'll take any rain that will help my trees grow faster

Fertilizer is more efficient than just water.

For the record I'm not a fan of Houston's downpours. I'm more of a Seattle drizzle rain type of person if anything. So I get the frustration. One of the things I really dislike about Houston.
