If this has been covered here previously, please refer me to that discussion. What I would like to know is what all sources of TV do we have to watch the Astros games, both Home & Away? Currently I have AT&T Uverse but the cost per month has gone out of sight - for me at least. I think Uverse, Direct TV (an AT&T company), plus FUBOTV, carry all the games (meaning home & away). I believe YouTube TV carries MLB Network but Astros' HOME games are blocked out on MLB Network.

Looks like FuboTV might be my best bet. If you KNOW more, please let me hear your suggestions. Thanks.

MLB Network is probably your best bet. I've heard you can use a VPN to get around the blackout restrictions for home games. We still have U-verse too, it's nice being able to watch all of the Astros games. But it is getting pricey. I just call every year to cancel and they offer me a promo, so I stay.

I just found out that u-verse is no longer being offered. Meaning, if you drop it you cannot get it back. Sounds like ATT will focus on streaming.

For Astros games I’ve heard Fubo is a good option but still a bit pricey. If you don't mind watching the games on replay then MLB.com is a good option. I don’t know about the tricks with VPN.

Thanks. That's worth a wait before dropping Uverse. Not long till Spring Training. I'm paying $170/month for just the 2nd level of Uverse (whatever that is). I get the Astros but no other add-ons. I am using VPN right now.

If you call and say you're thinking about switching and ask if they can offer a better rate you can probably get on a promo. I called last year and they took $40/month off my bill for a year, so I'm paying $106/month (plus taxes) for the U300 package that gives all the Astros games.

MLB has been cracking down on the VPN's the last few years. They are against the terms of use you agree to, and they have been cancelling MLB.TV accounts for those using known VPNs.

ATT has a streaming option that has the Astros. I think either that or FUBO is the best option.

What about Direct TV STREAMING? Can you terminate when you want, like with YouTube TV, and HULU and those guys?
or, do you have to agree to a 1-year contract? Direct TV streaming has AT&T Sportsnet I believe.

Why is there no streaming option on MLB network or otherwise for HOME games? Not everyone has the time and resources to physically go to the stadium and deal with parking and all the time committment involved and planning ahead, given all the other demands on peoples lives. People that want to physically go, will still go. Seems like lost revenue opportunity. Minute Maid Park doesn't have the capacity to physically host everyone who would want to watch a game. Not even close.

My understanding is if Minute Maid Park sells out, the game will be televised locally. If Minute Maid Park does not sell out, the game will be blacked out locally. I guess they want the stadium filled before they'll broadcast it. It does seem silly though, most people don't have time during a weekday to go downtown for a ball game.
