Can anyone tell me whether Blackhorse Ranch South is a good place to live? It's in south Cypress by Bridgeland, which is a hot area for sales. I notice on Zillow that prices are very reasonable in Blackhorse Ranch South, and based on Google Streetview, the neighborhood is very well maintained. The homes and lawns look really nice.

The kinds of properties I see in Blackhorse Ranch South would sell for twice that much in the Austin area, and streets wouldn't look as nice.

I may be living temporarily in a property very close to Blackhorse Ranch South, so moving only a mile away would sure be convenient.

Default Absolutely Yes!

Blackhorse Ranch is a very nice place to live. It is an upscale neighborhood located in a very popular area that is fast growing. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Obviously the traffic will be heavy if you are commuting towards Houston but otherwise that is a very good area.

It's a nice neighborhood. I'd check proximity to the railroad tracks though, if train horns are something that bothers you. They blow loudly at the Fry Rd. and House & Hahl crossings.

I think that would be for Blackhorse Ranch, but Blackhorse Ranch South is much further away. But it wouldn't bother me. I live only about 10 houses down from the Missouri-Pacific tracks here, and the horns and rumbling don't bother me. However, sometimes the trains idle, and the engines cutting off and on can be annoying.
