Lucky dog - I'm stuck with electric because Edgewater doesn't have natural gas.

Yeah Mountain Brook doesn't either. My current neighbor has a LARGE unsightly Natural Gas Tank.

I'm surprised that Edgewater doesn't consider it's age.

BUT Skyline Acres has it.

LOL - originally, we had a LP tank installed in our backyard for the fireplace. The LP gas company showed up with what appeared to be a submarine. I was always a bit leery of having a tank that large up against the house. It's gone now thank goodness.

Yeah, that's what it is, LP.

It's huge, when he first put it in, it was in my peripheral line of sight when I walk out my back door, kept catching me off guard for the first 6 months or so. Bright white and yes a submarine would describe it!

Can you have the tanks underground? Are they safety hazards?

What? Underground? There is currently no water heater for sale that I saw that could be mounted underground.

Also the temp underground is colder, so the tank would have to work harder.

I mean safety wise, I wouldn't advise hitting it with your car or mounting it near a door or window, but other than that, it's perfectly safe.
