Playing it safe is always better.

I came in to work early. I figured if the temp dropped and snow started falling heavily, I'd head on home before it got too bad.

They've revised our accumulation totals to 1-3 inches, with possibly more tonight.

predicting snow is nearly impossible in this area of the country. Be thankful your lost day of work wasn't a result of you being in a ditch.

So true. Huntsville may get 3" while Decatur gets a dusting, or nothing (thanks to the Tennessee River). Or vice-versa.

Bahahaha,,, been waiting to see that go across the ticker at the bottom of the tv screen.

All the maps right now show it snowing over my house (all pink).... 'tisn't. Yet.

Hubby's napping at the moment and some of you seem pretty knowledgeable about weather stuff but, he is retired FAA ATC and had to learn about weather, weather patterns and all in order to steer traffic thru and around storms well and he has told me that this particular area is one of the worst in the nation (he ATC'd in several places across nation) for predicting weather with precipitation being especially difficult. Having to do with stuff that I do not understand... streams, currents, etc. I've bee-atched about the weather reporting here for yrs so, he explained it somewhat to me yrs ago. I have since forgotten the particulars tho.

I've always said that they usually say "50% chance" because then they're right either way.
