I was on my home around 5:40 when 4 Madison cops flew past us on Mill Rd & turned into Hunington Chase. Reports of gunshots, HEMSI on scene & investigator. Prayers for all involved.

I don't know...just saw a news blip about it on Facebook. Sounds like something more than just a medical emergency, the report said the police are blocking the street and there is visible police tape. We have friends that live in there but I can't reach them....I hope everyone is ok.

Update, a friend just sent me this...http://whnt.com/2015/01/27/large-pol...dr-in-madison/

Why are the police keeping the victim's identity so hush hush?. It happened yesterday when the (ex?) husband was harrassing his (ex) wife. Sorry I can't remember if the news said they were divorced or still separated? She did file a restraining order. Since his family lived on the street it shouldn't have taken terribly long I wouldn't think to locate his next of kin?

And if I read the news article correctly the victim sped passed the police, stopped his car, fired one shot killing himself and the police returned at least eight shots according to the article. Did they shoot at a dead body? Or his car? Or the area around his car? Was it the OK Corral in Hunington Chase? And if the two policeman that fired several shots didn't hit him or maybe even anything, why are they on administrative leave?

It just seems very strange that there is no new development 24 hours later. Are they hoping the interest in the incident just goes away?

No one is keeping anything hush-hush. They are having a news conference today, they stated that yesterday. And its pretty standard when there is a suspect dead and officers fired shots to put them on admin leave until investigation is concluded. Nothing weird about that.

I feel very sad for that family and that their personal lives are about to be made public. I wouldn't want that for myself or my children.

Thank you for the update LCT. I looked at the WAFF website (the only site where I could find anything. There was nothing on AL.Com and strangely no Nixle email like there usually is from the police station) and last night there was no mention of a conference today. I agree that about the family. A terrible situation all around.
