Anything I should worry about in these areas? Any area that HAS to be on my list and not already discussed earlier in the thread? We would rather be in Madison County School district, but Madison City SD is an option as well.
So are you buying or renting? Also, why do you prefer the Madison County School district?

@Preston3124
1. Renting for a year or so to get a feel of the place (I'm the OP).
2. I've heard several things on this board and from my husband's future coworkers about the the positives of Madison County school district (many of his coworkers raised children in those schools and had very positive experiences) and and warnings on the Huntsville school district, but I think my family would do better outside of the larger populations of Madison and Huntsville. I know Madison City School District is also very good, and wouldn't mind being there.

The fact is that no storm ever has the same path truly. Heck Huntsville City has one so bad once it made it look like a bomb went off , it's been 20 yrs or more I think. Weather in the South is something we all know to listen for but there is no golden buzzer for picking the spot that going to keep you from ever dealing with a Tornado. Madison City is great, but big lots that's just not possible here, were crammed in here like stuffed chickens. The new subdivisions here are popping up like gang busters and are hugly over priced and property taxes are big too. One of our elem schools just had to bring in trailers for the first time in twenty years. It is a great community to raise children, but if your not into small city living then outside the area in Buckhorn is the next best area. I have lots of family in the Buckhorn area and they love the schools and area.
