Since WOW! Huntsville will be using cable for this it will be 1000Mbps down and 50Mbps up.

This is probably in response to the competition. In the next couple years its competition for 1 Gigabit service will be AT&T GigaPower and Google Fiber. Comcast is currently offering Gigabit Pro at 2Gbps but I don't consider it real competition until they brings their cost way down.

But at what cost? Their 600Mbps service is $215/month. Who's going to pay that for home internet service?

According to a source, they are supposed to be competitive with other Giga Internet Services.

However, the WOW websites states that 300Mbps, 600Mbps, and 1Gbps Internet is not currently available with Ultra cable bundles. So, you can get the ULTRA DVR package or Giga Internet package, but not both? Hopefully they will upgrade the equipment before releasing.

I've had my AT&T service for a couple of weeks now. It is very nice.

WOW! launches $70/month gigabit-speed Internet in Huntsville and Madison | Tech Alabama | waaytv.com

WOW! Gigtopia

Wow Gigabit Internet is $70 a month but apparently only for new customers with two year contract. Current "loyal" customers are going to be charged $160 a month.

Also the customers who have ULTRA TV packages are not capable of receiving speeds 300 Mbps and above with WOW service.

Do you know what the conflict is between Ultra TV and the higher speeds is? BTW ... I have no idea what their Ultra TV is (I have their 60 MBPS service, and land line, but not cable television ... have Dish for that).

This is not the first time they've punished loyal customers.
