I'm liking Madison Trash Pandas or Rocket City Space Sloths.

I'll be the first to say it...these are some of the worst minor league baseball team names I've ever seen. I vote for Puffy Head Bird Legs just b/c it is so ridiculous.

Because I'm a Stone Temple Pilots fan I voted Army Ants. But those names are rough.

I wonder if the Army would have any issue with Army Ants?

Those proposed team names are all absolutely ridiculous. Why can't they have a normal name rather than the "cutesy" things? I find it hard to believe that those were the top 10 submitted by fans.

Other than it sounding stupid, I don't see why the Army would have an issue with the name. They probably don't get a vote anyway.

Probably right...I was just thinking of the NHL's new Vegas Golden Knights, but I don't think anything ever came of it.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a trend among minor league baseball recently. Good example would be the New Orleans team deciding on 'Baby Cakes' among other awful names like Night Owls and Po'Boys to replace the long time name 'Zephrys'. Thankfully though the fans of the Lynchburg Hillcats voted to keep their name rather than go with 'Love Apples'

I don't get it.

After reading the linked article, it looks like the team owner or publicist or whoever they interviewed is determined to have one of the crazy names. Note that Rockets had a large number of entries, but he apparently didn't like it so it didn't make the list. I doubt that Trash Pandas was submitted more than once, if that many. I've never heard a raccoon being called a trash panda, so it's not exactly a well-known term.
