Tax payer funded but sure, it’s free.

My pickup is the 1st Thursday which is tomorrow December 1st. Maybe they will get it by next week.

If they get too far behind they should just skip a month. That way they will start being on time again.

What they need is a good aerospace engineer who wants to clean up.

It's a miracle. I had my recycling picked up on the scheduled day (1st Thursday) for the first time in a long time. It got picked up at 12:30pm. Garbage pickup not to be outdone got picked up 25 minutes later.

That would work only if the government was not involved.

Both RANA and garbage are on Thursday. Only garbage got picked up today. RANA was supposed to be last week (but last Thursday was Thanksgiving) - my neighborhood has lots of blue cars on the curbs. I suppose they'll come eventually, hopefully before Christmas.

I'd always assumed they were funded by selling the recycling goods, but I read a day or so ago that they got a $500K grant a couple months ago. So they are supplemented to a degree.

Recycling is not a moneymaker. Precious metal recycling and strict recycling criteria maybe but not with a casual one-size type recycling we see. Pizza boxes and red solo cups seem to be the scourge of RANA and maybe that’s affecting their bottom line.

Glass is certainly a non-starter. Even Athens had prisoners running their recycling program and they stopped for lack of funding.
