There are at least a couple of really local distilleries as well - one that makes rum in Madison, and Irons in Huntsville that's really hard to get a hold of. From what I've heard it's really good, but there's a waiting list a mile long. I know of one guy who drove all the way up here from Jackson, MS when his name was called to get his bottle. Apparently you have to show up in person.

We're members of the Lynchburg Winery, so once every four months or so, we go up there to pick up our 3-4 bottles of wine. You'd be amazed how many times it coincides with visitors coming into town.

Each trip usually ends up being a four-fer:

- Lynchburg Winery
- Lynchburg Distillery
- Pritchard's Distillery
- Lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's

And maybe a fifth-fer: Jacks' Visitors Center

I got some Pritchard's one time that I thought was quite good. I don't really like regular Jack, but Gentleman Jack is pretty good. It's a little less harsh than Black and Green.

Straight To Ale distills and serves whisky, rum, and (maybe?) vodka, but only for consumption on the premises.

During my last visit to Jack Daniel's Visitor Center, I noticed an old map on the wall that showed a JD facility near where Pritchard's sits now.

I've been meaning to make it up to both Pritchard's Distillery and Southern Pride Distillery one of these days.
