I should not have read that they are euthanizing dogs automatically. I have also had the dog. He actually visited tonight and sat in the garage with us while it was raining. He didnt stay to long. But he has visited every night since Monday. He is precious. We would consider keeping him if he didnt have an owner and would not escape from the backyard. I do not want him going to the pound. I have called the pounds to see if anyone has been looking for the dog....they didnt even seem to care they didnt even ask to get my contact info incase someone did call looking for him. I have checked craigslist daily and the paper and noone seems to be looking for him. I just want him to have a loving home were he is happy.

I called the two local vets in East Limestone and neither had any calls about Archie.

We didn't see him tonight, but someone has to take him in. He's just too good.

Could he be a foreclosure dog?
I mean, he's been hanging out in your neighborhood for 3 days, he may just be familiar and comfortable with the area. On the other hand, had he been living there for some time, wouldn't you have seen him before? (with the owner)
How about the old-fashioned "found dog" fliers. Have you tried that avenue?

No foreclosures in the area, but we have had a house or two sold. No one recognizes him, and we have quite a few dog owners who walk their dogs all the time.

Is he trying to "tell" you something? Could his owner be in trouble in the house (heart attack), and he escaped?

We actually met a couple of days ago when we first ran into him.

We're trying to find his owner, but I'm thinking the owner isn't looking for him.

Doesn't seem to have a message, just looks happy to be petted and get his tummy rubbed.

I think at least 3 families in the area are feeding him.

Who let the dog out?Who?
Maybe owner got laid off and is tight on money and didn't have the heart send him off to shelter?
