I'm in need of a set of safety wire pliers *before* Friday (buy/borrow whatever). Does anyone know where I might find it in Huntsville? It's not exactly a tool you'll find at Lowes.

Looks like Harbor Freight and Tools is your best chance....

Harbor Freight Tools

They carry 2 kinds it looks like... and they are on University beside the Verizon store, next to Off-Campus books, behind Schlotzky's deli just east of Sparkman

Hope this helps....If they don't have it, try Madison County Co-op on 231 in Meridianville just past Publix.....

Happy tooling!!!

Glad to help you out....I don't trust anything they sell for long term use, but they do carry quite a variety of hard to find items....saved my tail a few times....lol...

I don't know if they're still there, but the company on the north side of the Red Cross building on Washington Street is a wholesale distributor of many brands of quality hand tools (amongst many other items) and would in the past sell to individuals at retail if asked nicely. W. W. Grainger on Jordan Lane also maintains a large inventory of quality hand tools, and their extensive catalog should list at least one of most every hand tool a person might need.
