I don't see anyone getting 60mph from this. It would have to be a very localized spot if anything.

Well, considering the fact that a direct hit from the eye-wall of a hurricane as strong as Andrew is most probably a 1 in 100/200 year event for our region I consider my home to be safe.
Yes, I do agree that my house has not been "truly tested" by 150 mph winds... I don't want to know what my neighborhood would look like after a direct hit from something like Andrew... Bill Baggs was decimated
Storm surge is actually a bigger threat for you, your in evacuation zone A so if an Ike like hurricane came through here your house would end up in Biscayne bay. Remeber andrew had a tiny windfield so the storm surge was only 4-7ft in most of Biscayne bay.
It's amusing to see how it's already deviated from all the models of two days ago.
I'm actually beginning to think it will just continue west because of how weak it is. impacting Jamaica,Cuba and Haiti.
