I know that's not the worst picture of the damage, but Andrew...when we drove back into Broward using hwy 27... (and Andrew hit Dade), we saw the 50, 60 ft. tall pines...bent in rows backwards. You could tell just by looking at it it was wind damage up in Broward, but very powerful.

When we made it to Miami, it looked like a nuke had been set off.
I hope the best for them.

Flooding and downed trees?
Any casualties ... no one riding the surf?

As of 5am EST Sat 10-24-2015 Patricia is barely holding onto Hurricane strength as the mountainous terrain and just by being over land itself continues to tear it apart. At the 8am or 11am advisory expect to be downgraded to a Tropical Storm. May even be just a depression by late tonight / early Sunday.

What remains of Patricia will help dump a LOT of additional rain into southeastern TX and southern / central Louisiana. Some areas of Texas have already seen scattered areas of several inches of rain and some flooding. Things will get worse as we head into later Saturday and Sunday for them.

This will be a rain/flood event only for the US.

Patricia could emerge over the northwestern corner of the Gulf of Mexico but is unlikely to restrengthen.

Hoping to hear from storm chaser iCyclone group once they're able to get out to where communications are still up. Their last position put them in or very very close into the eye of the storm near landfall. They'll at least have pressure guages telling true story of landfall strength, likely will have video footage, and be able to get actual landfall location photos.
